1 SINORIXTM CDT Product Presentation

2 Nitrogen (N2) extinguishing agent
Characteristic of nitrogen (N2) Room ambient After extinguishing Nitrogen 89% Approx. Oxygen 10-12% Oxygen 21% Nitrogen 79 % Agent: clean Extinguishing principle: displacement of Oxygen Extinguishing concentration: min 30% < 14.5% O2 Storage stage: as expended gas Effect on people: harmless (due to not having medical effect on blood supply)

3 Inert Gas Extinguishing
Inert gas systems aim to drop the O2 to between 10% and 14%. Ideally inert gas systems aim for ca. 12.5% O2

4 SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated
Nitrogen: Main component of air, inert and odourless Extinguishing agent which works by reducing the oxygen level (< 14%) Ecologically clean ODP = 0 (Ozone Depletion Potential) GWP = 0 (Global Warming Potential) Does not create breakdown products in contact with a naked flame Siemens was the first to have the idea of using nitrogen as an extinguishing agent

5 SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated
60 second discharge with extinguishing before the end of the discharge. Pipework pressure < 100 bar Centralised system with optional directional valves Modular system for protection of small enclosures Using 40.3% of nitrogen reduces oxygen level to 12.5%, which equates to air breathed at an altitude of 3,500 m.

6 Sinorix CDT: The best solution compared with gas blends
Unlimited access to natural gases Not dependent on specialist suppliers Natural gas blends are available from only a limited number of suppliers No extra costs for an inert gas without extinguishing benefits No patent costs for N2, Ar and CO2 The price of a gas blend is about 5 times that of a single gas No CO2 in SINORIX CDT (Unlike IG-541, which contain CO2)

7 SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated – Key points
Excellent extinguishing performance for Class A, B and C fires best solutions for rapidly spreading fires excellent performance on liquid and gas fires Electrically non-conductive safe for electronic risk Using inert gas no residues after a discharge Excellent performance on deep-seated fires with a retention time of 20 minutes suitable for archives

8 SINORIX CDT Stability of nitrogen after discharge
110 m3 room/60 seconds discharge time

9 SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated
What does CDT mean? Constant Discharge Technology New constant (or regulated) flow technology: Discharge pressure is almost constant, whatever the container pressure. Technology developed in house by Siemens SAS and manufactured by Production Extinction Siemens SAS. All the accessories too (e.g.: Pressure switch, Manual actuator, ….)

Constant Discharge Valve VFR 300S Quick connection PRESCODEM 400/270 BOUT80-CDT Equipped cylinders L / 130 Kg 300 bar working pressure Cône DIN Transportatino without accesories TPED Removable pressure gauge and pressure switch Pressure Gauge bar Pressure Switch 270 bar Removable under pressure

11 VFR 300 S SINORIX CDT Specifications Gas Pressure at 15°C
No perforation disc (OPEF). Gas Pressure at 15°C Outlet pressure Nitrogen or Argon 300 bar 60 bar to 40 bar (60s discharge time) Soft opening of the valve Safety valve 95bars included Outlet positioning left or right No difference between master and slave valve

12 VFR 300 S Interfaces SINORIX CDT 1/8NPT port for pneumatic driving
Standard outlet connection (3/4’’ BSP) / FR16-type Using of existing actuators (COPIST, DEPYM, POUSSAX…) Accessories removable under pressure

13 VFR 300 S Results SINORIX CDT Open piping Normal piping Closed piping
Test exemple Env. 100 bar MAX 95% / 57 sec De 50 à 40 bar / 35 sec Very high flow rate Internal limitation (Min discharge time 40 sec) Open piping Normal piping Closed piping

14 Comparison standard technology to CDT
VFR 300 S Results Flow rate Std Flow rate CDT

15 Silent nozzle for Data Centre
Hard disc will damage due to sound level higher than 100 db during a gas discharge

16 The outlet pressure is function of the flow rate
SINORIX CDT The outlet pressure is function of the flow rate

17 Service pressure upstream Restrictors/sector valves
SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated Benefits of the SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated system Comparison for a protected volume of 450m3 and 3 mbar acceptable overpressure Type of system No. of 80 litre containers Total venting area (in m2) Service pressure upstream Restrictors/sector valves (in bar) Nitrogen system (Standard) 200 bar 15 0.89 PN220 300 bar 10 PN360 Nitrogen system (CDT) 300 bar regulated 0.31 PN100

18 Benefits of the SINORIX CDT regulated nitrogen system
SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated Benefits of the SINORIX CDT regulated nitrogen system SINORIX CDT regulated nitrogen at least one third fewer containers compared with a 200 bar system. More than 50% less overpressure venting area compared with an unregulated system. pressure downstream of the valve VFR300-S less than 100 bar.

19 SINORIX CDT: A modular system
As well as centralised systems, SINORIX CDT also allows you the option of modular systems The benefits are: No pipework No nozzle orifice drilling calculation Installation in existing premises without disturbing the user Cost

20 SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated
Examples of applications of the CDT system: Computer room Anechoic chamber Electrical rooms Solvent storage Cold rooms Deep-seated fires etc…

21 SINORIX CDT International Approvals
Nitrogen is recognised by the following organisations: Authorities and Laboratories: VdS, LPC, FM, UL, CNPP, HK-FSD, etc Agreement by the French Ministry of Health to the use of nitrogen as an extinguishing agent in the presence of people Standards: CEA 4007&4008/NFPA 2001/UL 2127/ISO & CEN 14520 Siemens introduced nitrogen as an extinguishing agent on the international stage for 4 years

22 SINORIX CDT - Approvals
The IEAG APSAD Gas Committee issued a favourable opinion on Nitrogen 300 bar systems since December 2004 More than bottles installed since 02/2005 VdS approved S-number + G-numbers

23 SINORIX CDT 300 bar regulated
All extinguishing systems using an inert agent need an overpressure vent to avoid damage to the protected enclosure. Even though the SINORIX CDT system uses a new constant flow technology, reducing the venting area required by 70%, you must still provide overpressure venting. Siemens FR has developed its own overpressure vent 1 hour fire resistant GRIFEU0,1 GRIPRO0,1 EVENT0,1
