16 TEACHER PAGE: Objective- 1) The students will be able to identify the 6 major nutrients necessary for life. 2) The students will identify which nutrients are contained in which foods. 3) The students will be able to apply this knowledge in determining a diet. Activity- In lesson 1 the students will list one activity the nutrient performs in the body and one food source. In lesson 2 the students will make out a menu utilizing the nutrients given. Process- Allow students 5 minutes to answer each lesson 1 screen. After each screen discuss the various body processes and food possibilities. The examples given are not complete. In lessen 2 give 10 minutes to plan a daily menu. There is no one answer, have students explain which foods contain which nutrients.
