IEEE Central Texas Section R5 Robot l The R5 Robot is coming together nicely, with omni- wheels and a wooden chassis cut from the water jets from the engineering building itself. Coding was turbulent at first, but hurdles have been overcome and am making fine progress on the robot.
5
IEEE Central Texas Section Freescale Cup Competition l The competition is one where students build robots to complete a lap on a track as fast as they can by using a camera to follow the line in the middle of the speedway. l A few robots are already complete and those teams are helping others with their projects. Teams were given kits donated from Freescale that came with the chassis and microprocessor.
6
IEEE Central Texas Section Social Events l Our first meeting was a great success by attracting a crowd of more than 35 people. We attracted and introduced IEEE to a lot of new faces and plan to have more members in the future.
