4 IEEE Welcome Week Purpose - Increase IEEE membership Events Included: o Dodgeball - Getting to know everyone o Panel for Freshman - Answering questions about anything/everything o Dinner at Posse - Nothing brings people together like food o TV-B-Gone - DIY universal TV switch Participation - around 150 different students August 29, 2009IEEE Student Branch at The University of Texas at Austin

7 IEEE Leadership Retreat Purpose - Improve existing and train new IEEE leadership Activities: o Obstacle Course/Scavenger Hunt – team building and problem solving o Tom Grim - IEEE history and structure and personal management o Charades – knowledge of Branch activities and structure Participation - Around 25 Officers and Members January 28, 2011IEEE Student Branch at The University of Texas at Austin

11 IEEE UT Student Branch Endowment Fund Currently, we have fundraised $12,000 of the $25,000 goal We have planned the allocation of $100 of CTS funding towards:  Registration costs associated with setting up an online donation system  Distribution of mailers to alumni and thank- you letters to donors  Transportation costs for a fundraising trip in March August 29, 2009IEEE Student Branch at The University of Texas at Austin

12 IEEE S-PAC Our Branch’s third S-PAC was held Thursday at 7pm Theme: “The Business of Engineering” Speakers: Willie Anderson, Qualcomm, VP Engineering Henry Stallings, USAA, AVP Dr. Sriram Vishwanath, University of Texas at Austin, Associate Professor August 29, 2009IEEE Student Branch at The University of Texas at Austin

13 Region 5 Plans UT's RAS group will participate in the robotics competition UT IEEE is currently assessing available funding  We hope to participate in ethics and circuit design competitions August 29, 2009IEEE Student Branch at The University of Texas at Austin
