14 13 Plural Rules for Spanish Words Applies to Nouns & Adjectives ~If a word ends in a vowel (a,e,i,o,u) add “s” to make it plural Example: el estudiante……..los estudiantes ~If a word ends in “z”, change the “z” to “c” and add “es” Example: el lapiz……………los lapices ~ if none of the above rules apply then add “es” to make a word plural Example: un cartel …… unos carteles
