2 HOPE What you want to happen Hope to win, to pass,hope it's sunny tomorrow WAIT Sit or stand and do nothing until something happens or someone comes. Wait for the bus, for the doctor,for a long time…

3 Look like (+ noun) To have similar appearance To look like your mother, an actor, a model. LOOK ( + adjective or age ) To appear or seem Look happy, sad, well, tired,look about 25 years old

4 WEAR To have clothes, jewellery etc on your body. To wear clothes, make up, a ring,glasses. CARRY To transport or take something from one place to another. Carry a bag,an umbrella, books,a baby…

5 WATCH To look at something for a period of time, especially something which is changing or moving. To watch TV, a film, a match,watch children playing… LOOK AT To direct your eyes in order to see.To look at something static. Look at a photo, at the board, at somebody's passport,at your watch…

6 KNOW Have met and seen somebody before. To know somebody very well, know something. Bring:your dictionary, something back from holiday. The student at home says: I must remember to take(llevar) my book today. Take: an umbrella,your children to school.

10 Confusing verbs L ook for:is the action of trying to locate something you have lost or need.Eg I'm looking for a job. F ind: it is used when you have located it. Eg: I have found a job.

11 Confusing verbs SAY: decir. Jack said, “hello”. Jack said “hello” to me yesterday TELL : contar, narrar, decir. Susan told a lie. Susan told me a lie.

12 Confusing verbs Lend: prestar. I lent my brother some money. Borrow: coger o tomar prestado. My brother borrowed some money from me.
