3 FEEL DO THINK What you think will influence what you feel What you feel will influence what you say to yourself and others How you feel and think will influence your actions, what you do…… The processes are interlinked CHANGE ANY ONE AND IT WILL AFFECT CHANGE IN THE OTHER. Why should we be aware of our thoughts?

4 Negative thinking is often driven by fear  Of failure  Of not being good enough  Fear of the future  It can also be negative default programming  “Nothing ever goes right for me”  “I always plan for the worst in the hope it won’t be too bad” “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.” Henry Ford

5 Internal dialogue - what you say to your self and the instructions you give, create your reality Negative instruction, Negative story ⇛ Negative outcome Negative thoughts play out like a movie in our head complete with negative dialogue and can result in us feeling down, angry and stressing about EVERYTHING!!! FEEL  NEGATIVE ACTION  THINK 

6 What if I told myself a positive story? Positive instruction, Positive story ⇛ Positive outcome Imagine and create a positive movie, complete with positive dialogue, which will inevitably help you to feel uplifted, calm and more in control ……and surprise you with the outcome!!! FEEL POSITIVE POSITIVE ACTION THINK POSITIVE

7 Think of the very best case scenario, what would you really like to happen? I want to pass my exam and I will be proud and the tutor will be pleased I will get onto next year where I can choose my units and My family will be pleased and I will be closer to graduating and Getting the job that will lead me to financial security... Etc. How will I feel now?

8 What I don’t want  1 I don’t want to waste my time 2 I don’t want to get a D 3 I don’t want to make a fool of myself 4 I don’t want to be unhappy 5 I don’t want to miss this field trip Start by making a list of what you don’t want …… What I want instead 1 I want to be effective with my time 2 I want at least a B 3 I want to make a good impression 4 I want to be happy 5 I want to be on this field trip Then make a list of what you do want ⇛ ⇛ ⇛ ⇛ ⇛ “What if I don’t know what I want?”

9 Get caught in detaching from the now It becomes something that is in the future Somehow likely to be unobtainable. How can we give ourselves a better instruction? Getting Caught Up With Wanting It When we want something, we can……

10 What I want instead 1 I want to be effective with my time 2 I want at least a B 3 I want to make a good impression 4 I want to be happy 5 I want to be on this field trip What I am doing 1 I am effective with my time 2 I am getting at least a B 3 I am making a good impression 4 I am happy 5 I am going on this field trip ⇛ ⇛ ⇛ ⇛ ⇛ Affirmations- A Positive Instruction

11 I am a conscientious student. I find something interesting at every lecture I am attending all my lectures I am attending all my tutorials The subconscious will create what the conscious mind instructs it to create…..

12 I am getting at least a 2:1 I am going onto next year I am choosing my options I am one of those that pass I am very proud of myself I am HAPPY The subconscious will create what the conscious mind instructs it to do…..

13 I can go back to lectures, I will send an and apologise I am not sure what she might think of me I think she will be pleased to see me People will think I am contributing etc.etc.etc. “Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions” Mahatma Gandhi

14 Think of your thoughts like seeds to plant in your garden. The seed you plant is the flower that will grow. If you want Orchids you must plant Orchids You cannot plant weeds and expect Roses

15 If you want sunflowers you must plant the seed!
