The National Textile Corporation Limited (NTC) is a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Textiles which was incorporated in April 1968 for managing the affairs of sick textile undertakings, in the private sector, taken over by the Government. VISION To be a world class eco-friendly integrated textile company, catering primarily to the clothing needs of the nation through innovate ideas and technology. MISSION Brand to be the Nation’s Clothier, be a National player providing 1. Clothing solutions to Nations masses 2. Opportunity for the Nations  people to identify themselves with a national

119 mills controlled by NTC Ltd with the help of 9 subsidiary Corporations NTC is to modernize/set up 24 mills by itself through generation of funds from the sale of its surplus assets. NTC has so far closed 77 mills and has transferred 2 mills in the State of Puducherry to the State Government of Puducherry. 16 mills are to be revived through Joint Venture route.

With 21 No of Working Mills NTC has Below Production capacities. Spinning – Total No of Spindles lakhs , Total Production ( Year 2010 ) - Yarn lakhs KG Sale Value - Rs.402 crore Weaving Capacities – Total No. Of Looms – 338. Total Production Lakh Mtrs . Sale Value - Rs.76 crores . Export - Rs. 631 lacs ( Year ) Rs Crores ( During April-Dec ) Target Turnover is Rs.683 crores. ( about to Reach. ) NTC group has 9129 employees in its units.

9 Aurangabad Textiles and Apparel Parks Ltd
Aurangabad Textiles and Apparel Parks Ltd. (ATAPL) and New City of Bombay Manufacturing Mills are the subsidiary of National Textile Corporation Limited a Central Government undertaking. Both the companies have set up modern garments unit with state of the art machines with a view to expand up to 500 machines, for manufacturing of woven and knitted garments with an installed capacity of 3.0 mn. pcs p.a.

20 JOINT VENTURE NEW CITY OF BOMBAY MFG. MILLS
It was decided to modernize 16 mills through JV route by inducting private partners with NTC stake of 51%. NTC has not transferred the ownership of the land in the arrangement but is only giving a right to use of the land to the Joint Venture Companies (JVC) in which NTC is the major shareholder with 51% stake with 5 out of 8 directors on the Board of JVC. In pursuance to the GOM decision dated NTC has finalized 3 parties namely M/s Alok Industries, M/s Pantaloon Retail India Ltd (consortium) and M/s Bhasker Industries Ltd (consortium) for 5 mills to be revived and run through Joint Venture . NTC and ALOK industries LTD had Joint Ventured for 2 sick NTC units : NEW CITY OF BOMBAY MFG. MILLS 2. AURANGABAD TEXTILE MILLS

22 Objectives of Joint venture
Revival and modernization of textile Mill. Convert and manage this as a profitable business unit hereby generating employment in the process. Create infrastructure facilities on the surplus land, preferably textile related or other as permissibly by the local rules.

No cash investment by NTC. Entire cash investment of Rs Crores to be brought in by Alok. Alok responsible for implementing Business plan. Alok to have full operational control though a nominated chief Executive officer.

29 SPINNING We have a total of 300096 spindles and 5424 Rotors capacity.
In house yarn QA dept where we ensure that the yarn which we use for weaving is up to mark in terms of quality, perfections. Yarn Count range for in house consumption includes 6’s to 80’s. For special requirements where we have to procure yarn from outside we ensure doing it with a reliable and recognized yarn supplier.

30 R & D AND TESTING At Alok, product quality is of paramount importance; it is also one of the reasons why our products have gained acceptance across seventy countries and some of the world's most demanding customers. To ensure that our products conform to the highest quality specifications, we have set up a number of laboratories at our plants, with state-of-the-art testing equipment. SPINNING TESTING EQUIPMENTS : HVI Spectrum, AFIS PRO, USTER TESTER 5, USTER CLASSIMAT QUANTUM, USTER TENSOJET, USTER AUTOSORTER 5, CSP TESTER

31 WEAVING State of art machines for sizing, warping operations.
It includes the direct & sectional warping machines for solid and yarn dyed fabrics. We take machines from the likes of Benninger, Prashant Gammatex. State of art looms from: Picanols with leno attachments able to give variable different selvedges effect Toyoda Sulzer Various weaving mechanisms available: Plain weave Dobby Jacquard Rapier Total No of Looms – 754 – Wider width 876 – Normal Width.

32 R & D AND TESTING ( PROCESSING )
Two laboratories at Vapi are designed for testing home furnishing fabrics and apparel fabrics, as well as knits fabrics. The equipments installed in these laboratories are from world leaders such as Mathis, James H. Heal, U.K., Whirlpool, IFB etc. Colour measurement is conducted through Datacolour 600 plus CT machines, Colour Eye 7000 A from Grateg Macbeth, USA and a 3-auto colour dispensing system from Datacolour.

33 PROCESSING This is the most important operation before the fabric finally goes in to the market. Here we do value addition to it by adding effects, like producing various colors, finishes, prints. We have latest state of art ranges to ensure that we do maximum what market demands. 3 Continuous Processing Lines from Benninger, Monforts, Kuster , Reggianni. 1 Batch wise Proceesing Line from Kusters,Airoli, Biancalani. Yarn Dyeing from Fongs Tonns PerAnnum

34 DYEING Producing consistent shade quality is a big issue today when the volumes are big. We have installed continuous ranges to ensure that we offer our customers more trusted, reliable supplies of textiles. We are capable of producing 328,000 meters finished fabric per day. We can dye cotton, polyester with reactive, vat, disperse class of dyes to achieve various standards. We also have batch facilities to dye specialty fabric, involving nylon, acrylic based fabrics. We have latest state of art ranges to ensure that we do maximum what market demands. Bulk machine includes Benninger Pretreatment , mercerizing ranges. Dyeing ranges include Kusters padder to get maximum consistency across the width of the fabric, We have Monforts, Benninger continuous dyeing machines. We have a well equipped laboratory to support all bulk functions. It contains sample dyeing machines from Mathis to ensure maximum shade repetition in bulk. We have a full fledged QA department to ensure that only conforming goods goes to customer.

35 PRINITING We have Rotary screen printing, Flat bed printing facilities available with us. We are having 2,12 color rotary machine available with us. Various style of prints done by us: - Discharge - Resist - Blotch print We do reactive, procion, vat, disperse, pigment prints. We have latest state of art ranges to ensure that we do maximum what market demands.

36 GARMENTS Alok industries can produce 22 Mn Pcs garments per Year and 3100 Stitching Machines from Juki , Pegusus , Eastman Etc

37 Certifications ISO Certifications The company is now accredited with Integrated Management System (IMS). There are 4 certificates under this system: ISO 9001: 2000 – Quality Management System ISO 14001:2004 – Environmental Management System OHSAS 18001: 2007 – Occupational Health & Safety Assessment System SA 8000: 2008 – Social Accountability Eco - Certifications Alok is the first Indian Textile company to have been awarded all three certifications for its eco-friendly products as under EU Flower – the eco-certificate from European Union KRAV certification for organic products SWAN certification – a Nordic eco-labelling certification Other Certifications OEKO-TEX Standard 100% Cotton, Polyester Supima Trade Mark Certification Fair Trade Standard (Cotton) Certification, German Eco-Cert - Trading and Exportation Certificate GOTS – Processing of fibres from certified organic agriculture. CSR is an integral part of Alok - some of the CSR initiatives includes Employment to tribal women on weaving looms and garment/made up stitching machines after intensive training and orientation Private Public Partnership with Silvassa Admnistration for converting the Government owned Industrial Training Institute into a centre of excellence Best in class ETP system for primary, secondary and tertiary treatment of effluents.
