5 CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PACKET (continued) Packets received by May 2, 2014, will be granted an email evaluation no later than May 23, 2014. This update will advise you of any requirements needed before recommendation of your credential. Packets may also be submitted after May 2nd, however, an email evaluation response will not be guaranteed by May 23rd. APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 2, 2014

6 CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS Mandatory electronic submission is required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Electronic recommendations will begin when grades are posted – mid-June, 2014

7 CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS Step 1   Complete and submit the credential application and recommendation fee by the deadline date. Step 2   Your file is reviewed to make sure all requirements have been met.   After final grades are posted in mid-June, and we verify that you have successfully completed all requirements and course work, CSUSM recommends you for a credential via CTC website.   We anticipate the recommendation process will complete by the end of July for those students who have met all requirements and submitted applications by the deadline date.   All other applications will be processed on a date-order basis.

8 CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS (continued 2) Step 3   CTC will email you a notification of recommendation for your credential. This email will provide a link that instructs you to complete your credential application process.   You will also pay fees. Payment by MasterCard, VISA, debit/credit card, or a one-time credit card (available at most grocery stores) is the only option for payment of the on-line recommendation.   The fee is $72.50 or $29.50 with credit for a Certificate of Clearance. Credential fees are subject to change without notice.

9 CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS (continued 3) Step 3 - continued   CTC notifies the student and CSUSM via email that all fees have been paid and student will be issued a credential. The initial email will not list all authorizations for your credential.   CTC issues notification of credential issuance via email. This email serves as the Verification (C-19) Letter.

10 CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS (continued final) Step 4   Credential is issued by CTC on-line ONLY; a paper document is not issued.   You may verify issuance of your credential at: http://www.ctc.ca.gov Click on the blue rectangle box that says, “Online Services for Educators.” http://www.ctc.ca.gov   On the page that opens, click on the LARGE blue rectangle box that says” EDUCATOR PAGE.”   The page that opens will ask for the SSN and DOB. Follow the “next” prompt on the following pages to see your credential information.

16 Grading Policies Credit/No Credit (CR/NC) is given for student teaching/intern teaching. The minimum acceptable final grade for the courses in the professional education sequence is C+ (2.3), but a B (3.0) average must be maintained.

RSVP requested.   You are not required to apply to graduate, as a degree is not being conferred.
