2 Tag Questions Example: You are coming, aren’t you? You speak English, don’t you? Alexis is here, isn’t she? Gayleson will be here soon, won’t he? Chris is on time, isn’t he?

3 Tag Questions It is a statement followed by a mini-question. The whole sentence is a "tag question", and the mini- question at the end is called a "question tag". We use tag questions at the end of statements to ask for confirmation. They mean something like: "Am I right?" or "Do you agree?" +_ Positive Statement, Negative Tag? Snow is white, isn’t it? Negative Statement,Positive Tag? You don’t like me, do you?

4 Tag Questions Look at these examples with positive statements: Positive Statement,Negative tag? You are coming,aren’t you? We have finished,haven’t we? You do like coffee,don’t you? They will help,won’t they? [won’t = will not] John was there, wasn’t he? I can come,can’t I?

5 Tag Questions Look at these examples with negative statements: Negative Statement,Positive tag? It isn’t raining,is it? We have never seen that movie,have we? You don’t like coffee,do you? They won’t (will not) help,will they? John wasn’t there, was he? I can’t come,can’t I?

6 Tag Questions A question tag is the "mini-question" at the end. A tag question is the whole sentence. Tag QuestionCorrect Answer Snow isn’t white, is it?Yes, it is.
