Project Summary
Funding: DHET NSF funding R (since May 2013) for construction, equipment and operating costs (2015 to 2017). Substantial co-funding from GIZ.
Project Objectives
Design, construct, equip and staff a national facility for the training and education of personnel for the RE industry (Wind, Solar-PV, Solar thermal, Micro-hydro, Bio-gas, …).
Develop and deliver RE industry training in South Africa.
Develop and deliver South African (SAQA registered) qualifications for RE training and education.
Facilitate industry access to RE expertise in South Africa
