2.  They used to sit quietly in desks and read from books.  Now they are using technology to enhance learning.

3. Teachers taught standing at the chalkboard. Teachers used overhead projectors to enhance learning. Teachers use on line teacher web pages to communicate with parents and students. Students and teachers are blogging to get help with homework, or respond to questions. Teachers had a few computers in the classroom to supplement instruction. Teachers are using Activ boards, document cameras, and laptops to enhance learning.

4. Reaches every learner Allows for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning to occur The children are involved in their own learning Can provide instant feedback Gets away from paper and pencil worksheets

5. I’ve been teaching the same all these years, why change now? Its too hard. I don’t have time to learn all the new programs. Technology is too expensive. We should spend money on more important things. Children have to learn to pass the state test. I don’t have all the latest equipment in my classroom.

6.  I pod  X box  Wii  Cell phones  These devices provide children with instant access to the internet and all that comes with it. It is our responsibility to teach them to do so safely and be informed.

7.  Budget cutbacks hold a great number of campuses back from going forward with technology. 8.  In 6 years the trend of on line classes will be 10%  By the year 2019, it is expected to increase to 50%.

10.  Learn what technology is available at your campus.  What funds are being spent on technology and training.  Who can you use as a resource on your campus?  Where can you sign up for training?  What training will yield the best results for you and your students?
