6 Nexperia Cellular System Solutions
Everything but the plastic: Complete reference designs for GSM/GPRS/EDGE mobile handhelds Full IOT validated system including Nexperia Cellular Multimedia Baseband, power management unit, RF, power amplifier and software Tailored for target applications Add multimedia with minimal cost, risk and time-to-market … All you need for multimedia handsets Philips will be demonstrating MMS running on its Nexperia cellular system solution for GSM/GPRS cellular phones. It’s a complete, fully functioning and IOT-validated design that delivers high integration (less than 110 components), low power consumption and several multimedia features – including MMS, Java and WAP 2.0 – all at very competitive cost. Targeted at mid-end phones, this solution is designed for multi-band operation in Europe (dual-band 900/1800) and the USA (dual-band 850/1900 or tri-band). This Philips solution is especially interesting for manufacturers of multimedia handsets and even new market players since it includes ‘everything but the plastic’: it contains all the hardware and software including the RF chipset, a power management unit (PMU), a Nexperia multimedia baseband and a power amplifier. The protocol stack, including an extendable MMI, is fully tested for interoperability with the application hardware. And the multimedia options make it easy to extend performance even further, with functions such as JPEG, MPEG, FM radio and LifeVibes audio algorithms. Box text Key differentiators The Philips Nexperia cellular system solution running MMS: –        Complete optimized design for GSM/GPRS cellular phones –        Minimizes cost and reduces risk for multimedia phones –        Flexible hardware configuration, comprehensive software –        Proven design used in millions of systems worldwide Well on our way to 1 out of 10 GSM/GPRS phones based on Nexperia Cellular System Solution
