2 Summary The New Mexico DPS TraCS 10.xx Rollout project is a multi-phase, multi-year program designed to install, configure, and deploy Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) 10.xx to New Mexico State Police and Motor Transportation Officers statewide This project will provide electronic collection and management of Traffic Data for NMDPS and its partnering stakeholders. We request certification for Initiation and Planning, releasing $500,000.00 of Federal Hazard Elimination funding for work planned for FY15.

3 Project Purpose  Improve the timeliness of driver and vehicle information needed by the courts in New Mexico.  Improve data sharing of New Mexico Traffic Safety Data with internal and external stakeholders  Help identify priorities for National, State, Local, and Tribal highway safety programs.

4 Business Objectives Increase efficiency and productivity by reducing and eliminating manual, paper-based processes, which contribute to high costs and overhead expenses. Optimize business processes by decreasing the time for the creation of citations and reporting to the courts. Develop process for electronic submission of citation data to the Magistrate courts. Develop process for submission of traffic safety data to DOT

5 Technical Objectives Install required TraCS hardware and software in NM State Polices and Motor Transportation Police vehicles. Develop client/server architecture for TraCS clients and TraCS database Develop interfaces between DPS and Magistrate Courts for exporting electronic citation information from TracS database to Magistrate Court Odyssey Case Management System. Export NMDPS TraCS data to DOT traffic safety reporting database.
