3 When you look up a verb in the dictionary, it is given in the infinitive –This is the name of the verb –In English, we use the word to... e.g. to play; to drink; to read In French, there are 3 categories of infinitives -er, -ir and -re

4 In French, there is a certain structure in which you write verbs. This is so you can say who is doing the action. jeje I tutu you (singular or informal) il/ elle/ onil/ elle/ on he/ she/ we nousnous we vousvous you (plural or formal) ils/ ellesils/ elles they (boys/ girls) singular plural

5 -er verbs – e.g. habiter -ejhabite -estu habites -eil / elle habite -onsnous habitons -ezvous habitez -entils habitent With –er verbs, take away the er from the end, and then add the following endings:- habiter
