2 Marching Toward War Imperialism 1.Imperialism – the takeover of a country or territory by a stronger nation with the intent of dominating the political, economic, and social life of the people of nation

4 Marching Toward War Militarism 1.The policy of glorifying military power and keeping an army prepared for war 2.Having a strong and powerful army made citizens feel patriotic

11 Marching Toward War 2.Austria issues an ultimatum to Serbia that includes ending all anti-Austrian activity 3.Austria also demands that Austrian officials be allowed into Serbia in order to conduct an investigation into the assassination

12 Marching Toward War 4. Serbia agrees to most demands but Austria mobilizes with German support 5. Russia (Serbia’s ally) mobilizes their Military.
