11 Summary  The Reformation began in England for political not religious reasons The king needed an heir to the throne & a divorce He replaced a Church that wouldn’t give him what he wanted The whole country changed their religious beliefs to be loyal to their king  The Reformation divided Catholic vs. Protestant countries  The Catholic Church will never have total control over Europe again
