1 Boston! Team C Parent Meeting April 29, 2009 7:00-7:30pm NSMS Library

2 5:15 a.m.Arrive at the lower circle, check students’ bags and board the bus. 5:30 a.m. Depart NSMS for Boston! 8:30 a.m.Arrive at Wethersfield, CT for The Witch of Blackbird Pond tour. 10:30 a.m. Arrive at Boston and tour the Boston Museum of Science. 12:00 p.m.Lunch at the museum at group’s expense. Itinerary: Thursday, May 7

3 1:30 p.m. Visit the Bunker Hill Pavilion to see “Whites of Their Eyes” and tour the USS Constitution (“Old Ironsides”). 2:30 p.m. Walk Boston’s Freedom Trail! 5:00 p.m.Dinner at Pizzeria Uno. 7:00 p.m. Visit the Prudential Center Sky Walk. 9:00 p.m. Check into the hotel for the evening with security on duty. Itinerary: Thursday, May 7

4 Itinerary: Friday, May 8 7:00 a.m. Wake up calls. 8:00 a.m. Continental breakfast and check out of the hotel. 9:00 a.m. Approximate departure for Salem. 10:00 a.m. Visit Hawthorne’s House of Seven Gables and the oldest candy store in America! 11:30 a.m. Visit the Salem Witch Museum!

5 Itinerary: Friday, May 8 1:00 p.m. Lunch at group’s expense at historic Quincy Market with time to browse & shop. 3:00 p.m. Visit Plimouth Plantation to visit the 1627 Pilgrim Village & a Wampanoag Home site. 5:00 p.m. Departure for home with dinner at group’s expense. 8:00 p.m. Students are picked up at lower circle. Mr. Ferris will call the school with ETA.

6 What to bring… –Disposable camera –Stamps to send friends & family a quick note –CLOTHING: »Comfortable shoes (We’ll be doing A LOT of walking!) »Raingear »Extra socks »Sweater, sweatshirt and/or a jacket –Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, etc.) –Cash, $45.00-$75.00

7 What NOT to bring… Cell phones Alcohol, cigarettes, drugs or any illegal paraphernalia Unapproved medications Laptops Expensive jewelry Pets

8 Medications Any medications must be given to the school nurse prior to our trip. Mr. Ferris will issue any medications as needed. Mr. Wass will carry Epi Pens of those students with allergies.

10 Rules and Procedures SUPERVISION –Students must remain with their assigned chaperone at all times. –Students must stay in their own rooms; no visitation after “lights out”.

11 LUGGAGE –No alcohol or drugs. Bags will be searched prior to leaving. –Don’t pack more than you can carry. –Suitcase will be left under the bus until we reach the hotel Thursday evening. –Have a small back pack for items needed during the day to take on the bus. Rules and Procedures

12 Parents must come pick up their child in Boston if the child: –Uses, buys or attempts to use or buy any drug or alcohol. –Is present in anywhere other than his/her own room after “lights out”. –Engages in behavior that interferes with the safety of themselves or others. Rules and Procedures
