2. Departure Procedures All students drop luggage off in band room before class. Suitcases should be loaded underneath bus #1 Instruments should be loaded underneath bus #2 (All students bring own instrument to bus for loading by chaperone) Jazz Band Instruments in separate compartment

3. Chaperone introductions Final instructions 8th grade dismissed to board first bus 6th/7 th grade board second bus STUDENTS MUST REMAIN ON SAME BUS FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRIP

4. IMPORTANT Band Members are to find out what work will be missed while they are on the trip. Teachers will be flexible if students demonstrate proper responsibility.

5. Thursday Overview Lunch: On Bus Whitaker Center for Science and Art Dinner: Friendly’s Hotel Check-in Hotel recreation

6. Whitaker Center for Science & Arts 222 Market Street Harrisburg, PA 2:30 Titanic Exhibit 3:00 Self Guided Tour. Must tour in assigned groups. Must wear name tag. 4:00 Titanica IMAX 4:45 Load buses

7. Friendly’s Restaurant 5:30 p.m. Adults are to order first so they can be ready to monitor students when they finish eating. Monitor bathroom visits for behavior and safety Budget $11

8. Hotel Check-In Holiday Inn, Grantville, PA 717-469-1554 Students will retrieve their suitcase from the sidewalk, collect their uniform and room key in that order. Chaperones will check room and provide instructions for the evening.

9. Evening Activities Areas students are allowed: pool, game room, lobby or in the room area. Students must have something on their feet at all times (except at pool) Students need to remember their room number and keep their key with them at all times. Students must be in room by 10 pm.

10. Rooms at 10 p.m. Doors can remain open and students can watch TV, play games and call room-to-room. However, calm and quiet is stressed to not inconvenience other hotel guests. Chaperone will cover the following topics:  Fire evacuation, Wake-Up Call, Security, Breakfast

11. Lights Out 10:30 p.m. Doors are closed, lights out and students in their beds. TVs may stay on softy if all in room agree. No one is allowed in the hall No more telephoning room-to-room. Security Guard on duty from 11 am to 6 am. Ridoux receives a report in the morning.

12. Friday Overview Breakfast Performance Hotel Check – Out Hershey Park Awards Ceremony

13. Breakfast 6:30 a.m. Dressed in full uniform Suitcase packed accept for clothing items needed for the park Room cleaned Hot and Cold Buffet style breakfast

14. Performances Hershey High School COLT BAND – Warm up 8:25 a.m. Perform @ 8:50 Lower Dauphin High School JAZZ BAND – Warm up 10:05 Perform @ 10:30

15. Hotel Check Out Uniform gets packed in suitcase Tie is collected by Mrs. Chandler Students wear their Cedar Drive T-Shirt Chaperone checks condition of room Return room Keys to Mrs. Pollack Bring suit cases to lobby

16. Hershey Park Chaperones have cell phones and #’s The Big Claw. This will be the meeting place for awards ceremony departure. Students assigned to touring groups with two or three chaperones. Water rides may be permitted depending on weather conditions. Lunch – Tidal Force Catering Area 1:30-4

17. 6 p.m. Meet at Carousel Walk to ceremony together 6:30 Awards Ceremony begins 7 p.m. Dinner at Chocolate World  Not included in trip cost 8 pm. Departure 11:30 p.m. arrival at Cedar Drive! ALL students must bring their instrument home!
