3 Morning 1> arrive by 5:15 AM 2> Board your assigned bus 3> Quiet and attentive during ALL roles

4 Attire: Weather is to be party cloudy and 88 0 -there is a 40% chance of PM showers *respectful, but comfortable… sneakers preferred… no open shoes

5 To Bring: 1.Pillow / blanket for ride 2.Camera 3.Packed breakfast and drink to be eaten before the White House 4.SNACK for after the White House on the way to the Capitol. Lunch will NOT be until 1:30. 5.Snack and drink for the ride home 6.A “Revolution” attitude of respect and honor 7.$15-20 for lunch 8.$ for souvenirs 9.NO photo ID Mr. Wingard will provide a water bottle for everyone as you board the bus for home.

6 First Stop- White House. 1> Leave EVERYTHING on the bus. 2> follow instructions of teachers as we will try to do a little touring before entering the White House

8 WHITE HOUSE Allowed Compact cameras- no detachable lens or lens more than 3 inches. NO VIDEO. Wallets Cell phones, but talking and texting is PROHIBITED NOT PERMITTED NO VIDEO Cameras Bags of any kind… including handbags, purses, backpacks, etc. Any pointed items Food and beverages or personal grooming items (makeup, lipstick, etc) GUM and candy

9 White House Ask questions Look all around Do not touch things or sit on the furniture See where history has been made.

10 A FTER THE W HITE H OUSE … TAKE A PHOTO ON P ENNSYLVANIA A VENUE AND THEN GET ON BUS.

11 Longworth Office Building Go through security as quickly and efficiently as possible We will travel to Longworth Hearing Room 1334 to meet with Congressman Perry.

Ask your Congressman good questions: As US Congressman, what is the biggest challenge in your job? What is the best part about your job as a Congressman? When your constituents want you to vote a certain way and you feel you should vote the other way, how do you vote and how do you make this decision? What legislation have you introduced or worked on that you are MOST proud of? What committees do you serve on? What committees present the biggest challenges to you?

20 Schedule: 5::10 – please be at the front entrance (auditorium) *students to board buses… ask parents to “spread out on the bus”. *Students may sit where they wish… no switching seats unless assigned or by mutual agreement *Scott and/or Holly to take role on Bus 1. Mark to take role on Bus 2. 5:30 AM- Depart Dallastown (FULL ROLE) - If arrival between 7:00 and & 7:30- modified monuments walk 8:00 – Arrive in D.C. (RESTROOM BREAK – at Ellipse Pavilion) - suggest a walk around White House / Blair House and U.S. Treasury. - Walk the Ellipse to see the National Christmas Tree and photos of White House from South Lawn 8:45- Be at East Gate-White House- line up in alphabetical order. Can mix it up -Mr. Young should be in the front of the group and Mr. Zimmerman in the back. *If your parents are going… ADULTS- need photo ID **Mr. Wingard to take “non-White House” students to Pennsylvania Ave. 9:00-9:45- self guided tour of White House (check Web site) 10:30- load buses on 15 th Street – Buses will take us to Longworth Office Building. 11:00- Arrive at Longworth. If time, group photo at Capitol 11:30-11:45- meet with Congressman Perry in Longworth Hearing Room 1334 12:00-1:30- (STREET ROLE) Capitol Tour- will have to follow Perry’s staff on specifics here… be patient with me on this. 1:30-2:30- Lunch at Capitol Visitor Center- early finishers- Capitol Museum ? ASAP after lunch (2:30)- (STREET ROLE) Mark and Scott divide by interest… Senate and House Gallery 3:30 – (STREET ROLE) Leave Capitol 4:00- (FULL ROLE)Load buses at Garfield Circle… Head for Home. When getting off the Baltimore Beltway, have students call home with a 40 minute… heads up on pick up. Hopefully 6:30- Arrive at DMS

21 R ETURN HOME AROUND 6:30… WE WILL HAVE YOU CALL HOME ABOUT 40 MINUTES BEFORE WE ARRIVE. Q UESTIONS Favor--- Bring in $1.00 to Mr. Wingard for driver gratuity.
