2 The 1920s A fashionable flapper had short sleek hair, a shorter than average shapeless shift dress,wore make up and applied it in public, and smoked with a long cigarette. Many wore long necklaces of pearls or beads Men’s fashion in the 1920s was slick and rather formal. Gentlemen would wear a suit or a coat and tie of some sort

3 The 1950s 50s fashion was elegant and classic. Hair was done in tidy and sleek styles and dresses tended to be printed and cinched at the waist. Men’s fashion in the 50s was a little more modern than in the twenties. They wore jeans converse and other things we wear today. Leather was worn frequently and plaid was also a popular print.

4 The 1960s Fashion in the early 60s held more of a resemblance to fashion in the 50s. The designs were elegant and classically cut. Hair was worn high. The late sixties was home to the “hippie” phase of fashion. Tie die, peace and flower power were the main inspiration for clothing.

5 The 1980s The 1980s the age of leg warmers, messy hair and bold fashion. 80s fashion was mainly influenced by celebrities. Such as Bananarama and Madonna. This was very much the age of self expression with subcultures of fashion becoming increasingly popular.

6 The 1990s Fashion in the 1990s was also heavily influenced by music. Bands like the spice girls brought with them new fashion. The 1990s was also home to the rise of popularity for grunge and hip hop clothing. The 90s also brought a popularity for wearing scrunchies which has carried on into our generation.

In 1971, he expanded his line and opened a Polo boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills He is now one of the world’s most successful designers with his designs being sold worldwide.
