1 Conjunctions Conjunctions join words or groups of words. Do NOT confuse conjunctions with compound words (example: basketball is NOT a conjunction) Coordinating Correlative Subordinating Join words or word groups used in the same way (FANBOYS) Pair of conjunctions join parallel words Begins a subordinate clause and connects it to an independent clause For, and, nor, but, or, yet, so both…and, either…or, neither…nor, not only…but although, as, if, because, since, so that, unless, when, where, while

2 Conjunctions Directions: On your notes from yesterday, COPY THE SENTENCES(leave spaces between the lines). Identify the conjunctions in each sentence. Then label the nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, articles, adverbs, prepositions, and prepositional phrases. There are 7 conjunctions total. "In the mornings, when I am usually wide awake, I love to take a walk through the gardens and down by the lake, where I often see a duck and a drake. 2. I wonder as I walk by what they'd say if they could speak, although I know that's an absurd thought."

Mark the parts of speech for EVERY word. 1) Fido likes bones so dog treats. 2) You can sit and stand. 3) I like candy before it tastes good. 4) She hugged both her mom if her dad. 5) Go put on either your shoes and your boots. 6) Your shoes go on before your socks. 7) My brother had to choose a sticker if a pencil.
