2 Tag Questions Example: You are coming, aren’t you?
You speak English, don’t you? Alexis is here, isn’t she? Gayleson will be here soon, won’t he? Chris is on time, isn’t he?

3 Tag Questions It is a statement followed by a mini-question. The whole sentence is a "tag question", and the mini-question at the end is called a "question tag". We use tag questions at the end of statements to ask for confirmation. They mean something like: "Am I right?" or "Do you agree?" + _ Positive Statement, Negative Tag? Snow is white, isn’t it? Negative Statement, Positive Tag? You don’t like me, do you?

4 Tag Questions Look at these examples with positive statements:
Positive Statement, Negative tag? You are coming, aren’t you? We have finished, haven’t we? You do like coffee, don’t you? They will help, won’t they? [won’t = will not] John was there, wasn’t he? I can come, can’t I?

5 Tag Questions Look at these examples with negative statements:
Negative Statement, Positive tag? It isn’t raining, is it? We have never seen that movie, have we? You don’t like coffee, do you? They won’t (will not) help, will they? John wasn’t there, was he? I can’t come, can’t I?

6 Tag Questions A question tag is the "mini-question" at the end.
A tag question is the whole sentence. Tag Question Correct Answer Snow isn’t white, is it? Yes, it is.
