1 RF Cycle Count By MIS Department

2 What is RF? The RF (Radio Frequency) system is a wireless network that links handheld scanners (“guns”) with the AS/400 and RLM Each Warehouse is equipped with RF transmitters and guns that allow users to scan various types of UPCs for receiving, picking, packing, transferring and cycle counting units and cartons.

3 What is Cycle Count? Cycle Count is a function performed to insure that the Perpetual (book) inventory and the Stock Locator inventory matches the actual number of units on hand Cycle Count is done: At end of year for Physical Inventory and audit purposes When a major discrepancy is noticed in a location When inventory is moved Periodically as a check on locations

6 Using Function Keys All “F” function keys are accessed by first pressing the orange button Press F10 to show/hide function options on the screen Function key labels are above the button itself F2=Options F3=Bypass F18=Sign off

7 RF Handheld Menu Type the number for the CC option then press
“Field Exit” Type the number for the CC option then press “Field Exit”

8 Cycle Count Menu Type the letter for the “Location” option then press
“Field Exit” Type the letter for the “Location” option then press “Field Exit”

9 Open Counts Listing If any cycle counts previously started have not been completed they will appear in a list here To enter one of these counts, type the number of the item on the list and press Field Exit. Skip to Scan Location F3=Bypass F12=NEW CYCLE F18=SIGN Off

10 To start a new cycle count, press F12

11 Scan Location Press the large button to scan the UPC on the Location Label The last location scanned appears here for reference

12 Cycle Count Already Created
If you see this message the location has already been cycle counted Press Enter to go back and scan a new location

13 Select Scan Type Type A for UPC

14 Select Scanning Option
Type 1 for Single SKU

15 Change Multiplier If you have more than one unit to scan for a UPC press F6 to change the multiplier F6=Chg. Mult F8=Printout F9=Bal(ance) F13=UPC#

16 Type the new number of the multiplier and press Field Exit
Set New Multiplier Type the new number of the multiplier and press Field Exit

17 Scan Carton or Units Notice the new Multiplier number
Press the large button to scan the UPC on the carton F6=Chg. Mult F8=Printout F9=Bal(ance) F13=UPC#

18 Scan Results The Style and Units Scanned display here
Press the large button to scan another UPC

19 Press F8 to print out the Cycle Count

20 Press F9 to Balance and review the Cycle Count

Use the Page Up/Page Down keys to scroll through the Counted styles

Press F15 to close the Cycle Count

24 Press F15 to finish closing the Cycle Count
Close Cycle Count Press F15 to finish closing the Cycle Count

25 Select Outq to Print

26 Confirm Outq

27 Cycle Count Finished

28 What Happens Next The number of units that were cycle counted replace the quantity in the Stock Locator location (PSL020) The Perpetual Inventory file is updated with the cycle counted quantity (PAL057) Adjustment records are created for the +/- differences (PRV057) Continue scanning other locations until finished with assigned task.
