IEEE Central Texas Section Visualizing Success… l Consistent attendance at every meeting: 20-30 l I&M Chapter would have an identity l Members are involved at higher levels of IEEE l Volunteers are plentiful l Members’ employers value membership in IEEE and our chapter l Goals for 2013 l Average attendance of 20-25 at each meeting l Hold at least 6 chapter meetings (3 spring, 3 fall) l Hold 1 social event

7. IEEE Central Texas Section SWOT Analysis (1/2) Strengths: instrumentation is an exciting field which touches all branches of engineering field. Thus, it is relatively easy to find out interesting topics and speakers as well as joint meeting opportunities with other IEEE societies.The strong support we are getting for NI. Being located in Austin, because of UT and high tech companies.w. low membership and scarcity of people. Weaknesses: low membership & scarcity of people wanting to serve as officers. Three vacancies, three officers, two of them hold two positions.

IEEE Central Texas Section SWOT Analysis (2/2) Opportunities: because the I&M engineering field is closely related to control engineering and no CE chapter is available in CTS organizing combined chapter with the two societies may help I&M to obtain critical mass. Threats: load is so heavy that the current officers may become so tired and quit.
