8 Cisco Upgrades On Aug 25 th while investigating sluggish Internet performance on the SNIP ISP, Cisco support noted that CEF ( Cisco Express Forwarding ) was not running. Due to the over 300,000 BGP routes, the 256 MB of RAM on the Cisco router was saturated and CEF was not possible. Cisco could only recommend a hardware upgrade. The YIPES router had been upgraded in March to allow a GIG interface to be added. We called CNI to get an upgrade for the SNIP and Internet2 routers to the same processor and RAM as the YIPES router. On Aug 31 st the SNIP and Internet2 routers were upgraded. Kevin Lynch of CNI performed the upgrades. ( Excellent Job! ) Sluggishness fixed!! CEF now working well! Internet Smoking!! $35,000

9 Technology Committee Update Dr. Moleski to discuss status of “ownership” investigation and update on committees. Priceless
