4 Communication Expectations, limits, parameters, and financial realities – are we all on the same page? Your child’s thoughts, fears, hopes, and goals Set specific goals and a time frame for accomplishing them

5 Now What? How to Help? Testing Plan ACT/SAT/SAT II Register for tests online. Official scores sent to schools BY YOU. You request from testing organizations!

6 Letters of Recommendation Generally, schools require 2 teacher recommendations. This year, all teacher recommendations will be PAPER recommendations and will be mailed, not sent electronically. Teacher recommendation forms (which includes instructions) can be found on the guidance webpage under “Forms and Documents.”

7 The Application Process Everything you need to know :

8 The process, continued… Permission to transmit transcripts Student registers for the Common Application EVEN IF he/she is not applying to any common app. schools.Common Application Student signs the FERPA waiver in Naviance

9 Student creates list of “Colleges I’m applying to” in Naviance and begins to request transcripts electronically. Student also requests transcripts on paper in Guidance Department.
