5  Goal:  The appearance of the neighborhood shall be improved during the next two years.  Implementation Projects:  Conduct neighborhood clean up every year  Remove Graffiti every week  Hold focused clean up activity on Block A to assist senior homeowners in upgrading property conditions and appearance. Goal/Projects – Example #1

6  Goal:  Social conditions between neighbors shall improve during the next two years to the point that neighbors know each other and gather often.  Implementation Projects:  Hold Block Parties annually to allow neighbors to become acquainted and really get to know each other.  Organize a welcoming committee to welcome new neighbors to the area and give them community resource information.  Implement an annual “Good Neighbor” award program  Form neighborhood association to discuss neighborhood issues and work toward making neighborhood improvements. 7  Goal:  Improve access to healthy foods and increase active living for all ages  Implementation Projects:  Develop community garden within one year to allow local residents to grow their own produce  Work with local churches and DUG to provide series of educational programs on healthy living and food preservation annually  Work with neighborhood populations to develop mentoring program by pairing youth with experienced gardeners Goal/Projects – Example #3
