2 Agenda Introductions (new members present) Updates from last meeting –Newsletter Update –ID Card Update –Benefits Update –Branding (Stephanie is working in cooperation with University Relations) –Calendar of Events/Homecoming Festivities –Facebook Presence –Creation of Student Incentive Programs –Restructured Donations/Membership Fees –Targeted Donation Pools

3 Organization Branding The Parent and Family Association will: Work in partnership with University Relations for a good image both electronically and in print. Create an advocacy component Become a think tank for parents

4 Calendar of Events (Questions) We will coordinate at least one PFA specific event each month Who is funding the PFA/Alumni Association Dinner?

5 KSU Soccer Tailgate Event: KSU vs. N. Florida September 26 th 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. KSU Soccer Stadium in the Super Suite Complimentary Tickets & Food Courtesy of KSU Athletics Hotdogs Nachos Chips Cookies Beverages

6 “Would You like a ScreamFree Home or School?” October 12, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Carmichael Student Center Leadership Room Adult Learner Programs Positive Parenting Series Presents event: with Miriam Bellamy, LMFT Certified ScreemFree Leader and Trainer.

7 2010 Homecoming Week Events October 22 nd Parade 4:00 p.m. – Begins at lot A and ending at campus green Festival 4:30 p.m. – Campus green (booths/food/activities) Concert 6:00 p.m. – MUTEMATH - Campus Green “Return to Owl Town” - Parent Family Association / Alumni Welcome Dinner at Commons 8:00 p.m.

8 October 23 rd 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Convocation Center PFA Pre-Game Reception

9 Family Fun Day October 30 th 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Carmichael Student Center University Rooms Free activities including “Playing Your Way Around the World: Education Through Cultural Games” (hosted by the International Student Association), a pizza lunch and the movie: “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs” Activities are geared toward children 12 yrs old and younger.

11 Restructuring Donations Membership Fees Keep the $35 Minimum Donation Additional monies will go to Targeted Donation Pools which support Student Incentive Programs This provides the members options for how they want their funds spent

12 Student Incentive Programs Programs that promote scholarship, leadership, global citizenship and community service. Create opportunities for service projects that involve students and parents working together. Create a means to recognize students and parents for university and community involvement. (Awards ect.)
