Become an Expert” program with 9 th graders to increase student accomplishment and help students achieve their dreams. Math Department The math department has been working hard the last three years to prepare students for the new Common Core curriculum and to make sure they are college and career ready upon graduation. New SpringBoard textbooks from the College Board aligned to the Common Core are now being used. Students will have online access to the books soon.

11. Math Department Additional Notes/Keys to Success Please monitor student grades and assignments on a regular basis. (Engrade) There is always homework to be done to improve math scores even if a specific assignment is not due the next day. KhanAcademy.org provides video tutorials and practice exercises for students who are struggling as well as for students who want to go beyond the assignment and work ahead. KhanAcademy.org In person tutoring is available from teachers during non-class time, by LACER tutors after school and by student tutors at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays Invest in your student’s success: graph paper, rulers, scientific calculators or graphing calculators. There are a lot of phone resources/apps like Desmos and graphing calculators, but these will not be allowed on tests.
