Adjectives adjective – a word that modifies a noun or pronoun
- makes the meaning more definite - they tell what kind, which one, how many, or how much Ex) Every resident in that area should know about the elections.

Remember adjectives modify nouns while pronouns take the place of nouns Adjective Each person was told to take shelter. (modifies person) Pronoun The police officer handed each of us directions to the shelter.

Inside modifies the verb stayed and tells where It was an unusually quiet morning. Unusually modifies the adjective quiet and tells how The barked quite loudly. Quite modifies the adverb loudly and tells to what extent

Now you try! The very happy man just sold many incredibly cold popsicles on the warm, humid summer day. (note the punctuation on this one!) A few of us thought that the newest yearbook cover was ridiculous, but we mostly liked the vibrant colors and flashy pictures.
