13. South Sudan-Political South Sudan started to fight for independence based upon political, economic, and social issues. Politically, the area of South Sudan was unable to participate within the government of Sudan. Through civil wars South Sudan was able to become independent in 2011 in order to govern themselves. Millions have died due to these civil wars.

The final rebellion happened in 1983 and continued into 2005 due to the removal of an autonomy agreement for South Sudan. The Comprehensive Peace Agreement granted South Sudan autonomy and representation in the national government as well as the path for South Sudan to become independent.
