3 What is a Credit? A student needs 23.5 credits to graduate. 5 What is an Elective?? An elective is any course that is not required and That you choose to take, such as: / Art / Foreign Language / Business / Consumer Sciences Note that some electives may be taken only after Grade 9 (such as Tech School), and others are specific to grades 11 and 12. The level is determined by the teacher recommendations, you and your parent. If you have a concern about levels for grade 9, it is best to consult with your current teachers and/or counselor. Parents and students may either consult with their teacher and eighth grade counselor in June for reconsideration of the recommendation or proceed with an override letter if they wish to change the recommended level.
