1. Welcome to Open House Students: Complete the classroom scavenger hunt. Color your watermelon name tag. Get to know your classmates before Mrs. Watkins gets ready to talk! Parents: Help your child with the scavenger hunt. Get to know other families. Complete the transportation sheet on back table. Write your email on the list on the back table. Make sure you know which day your child comes for their first day of school!

3. Things to remember for the first day of kindergarten : Drop off at front door OR walk your child down to the classroom for a QUICK hug and kiss! ***The building will be locked until 7:20. Please do not drop students off before 7:20. Make sure you have returned all forms/questionnaires. If your child will be buying lunch, make sure you have turned in some lunch money.

4. Each day remember to… Have your child at school no later than 7:55! –Students must be INSIDE the classroom by 7:55 Send a small healthy snack with your child in a labeled bag. Send your child’s take home folder to school and check it each night for important information.

5. Volunteers! We love volunteers!! (Reading with kids, field trips, field day, etc.) 6 week policy!!! Background checks…

6. Background Checks Everyone MUST complete a background check in order to volunteer in the classroom or go on field trips. These are now done ONLINE and must be completed on a computer in the CP library. Background checks must be renewed each year!

7. Specials Be aware of our specials schedule. Monday: Media/Technology (alternating weeks) Tuesday: Spanish Wednesday: P.E. Thursday: Music Friday: Art Have your child wear sneakers and comfortable clothes on PE day.

8. Behavior Policy Green: Excellent Day= Any sticker in folder Yellow: 1-2 warnings= Smiley in folder Orange: Multiple warnings= Straight face in folder Red: Very difficult day= Sad face in folder with phone call, email, or note

9. Before you leave… Fill out the transportation form on the back table—remember that school is dismissed at 2:50 and if your child rides a bus, you must meet them at their stop. Write your email address (if you have one) on the list on the back table. Get a packet of paperwork from Mrs. Rose. Make sure you know which day is your child’s first day of school—the lists are posted in the hall.
