COMMUNICATION SKILLS Be brave. Share your experiences if those experiences might be helpful. Listen for recurring themes. Ask open-ended questions. If you are not sure about what you’re hearing, ask for clarification. Identify what communication skills are lacking and build those skills. – Example: ________________ Use “I” statements rather than “you” statements. Stay focused. Be there. Be present.
