Your speech should explain some aspects of your (or your classmate’s) personality, background, beliefs, or aspirations. You need to write the speech in manuscript form. Try to express yourself clearly and concisely. Organize your ideas clearly. Proofread the manuscript carefully to eliminate errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. If you begin your speech with an object( eg. a book, a picture, a pair of shoes etc), use it only as a starting point to explain something of consequence about yourself ( or your classmate). The more creative your speech, the more successful it is likely to be. Create a title for your speech. Make sure your speech has an introduction, body, and conclusion. E-mail your speech to your teacher before Oct 20. chenyu@usst.edu.cnchenyu@usst.edu.cn Follow the guidelines you have learned. Time your speech carefully in rehearsal.
