1st Grade Goals 1st grade is a year of increased independence for your child socially and emotionally. As first grade teachers, we strive to foster independence and help your child through: Engaging students in collaboration and sharing Expecting excellence from the children and ourselves. Immersing minds in the quest for learning. Fostering respect for self, others and all cultures. Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
5
Social and Academic Responsibility Both based upon Oakridge 3Ts: We take care of ourselves. We take care of each other. We take care of this place.
6
Social Responsibility The 3Ts are universal and an integral part of each 1st grader’s development. Understanding and internalizing the 3Ts leads to a better, more productive learning environment! We always strive to highlight positive behavior choices to guide students to making appropriate choices.
