1 There are many types of problem-solving strategies in mathematics. Compare and contrast is a strategy that when you compare, you notice how things are alike. When you contrast, you notice how they are different. The table below show two monthly cell phone plans. Compare and contrast the monthly plans. Which plan would you choose and why? 5 *Define the vocabulary words using the glossary in the back of the textbook. *Any definition not found in the glossary can be defined using a dictionary or reliable internet source. *No credit for incomplete or vague definition.

6 It is very important that you come to class prepared everyday with a positive attitude and class materials which includes math binder, textbook, and pencil as well as a calculator.
