3 Orientation Goals by January 13th You should: Log in to the WebCT classroom Log in to the KCC MOO and practice chatting. Get ready for online learning.

4 Online Learning Requires Be online approximately 3 hours per day, 3-4 days per week. Meet online at KCCMOO once a week: –Wednesday 9-10 p.m. Check the web classroom daily to keep track of your assignments.

5 For spring 2003 Log in to webct and click on add course Choose KapCC Find your course’s name Click on THE “+” SIGN NEXT TO –CLICK ON THE REGISTER BUTTON –YOU WILL HAVE ADDED THE COURSE.

6 Preparing Your Computer Make sure your email and WWW browser 4.0 + access problems are solved. If they are not, do not consider taking an internet based class Practice word processing and saving to a folder on your hard drive that you set up for your work. Back up all your work. Practice copy and paste for word processed text to and from your email account.

8 Class Expectations Abide by KapCC’s Student Conduct Code Use the manners you were taught in kindergarten: be kind, share, stay cheerful, take your turn, work with others, be on time, do your part, don’t disappoint yourself. Use appropriate *netiquette* in any communications you do in this course.

9 The Webbed Classroom PASSWORDS If you forget your password, email Kirkpatrick for a password change. This change will affect all your WebCT logins.

10 The KCC MOO Space http://moo.kcc.hawaii.edu Log in to the web classroom. Click on the umbrella icon that you will see at the right. Click on KCC MOO Type: connect guest Type: coconut

11 The KCC MOO Space http://moo.kcc.hawaii.edu The MOO will email you a login password. The first MOO session will occur on the first Wednesday of the semester.

12 The Online Discussion space The forum is for introducing yourselves, submitting papers and taking part in asynchronous discussion. For any questions you have for ONLINE OFFICE HOURS For KCC MOO discussion assignments.

13 Getting to Week by Week Assignments Assignments are posted to the Course Content icon by the week. Remember the course is only 15 weeks long.
