1 TIMBERS ELEMENTARY PRE-K ORIENTATION 2015 Mrs. Marquez Mrs. Faerber Attendance Policy Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. for the AM group and11:05 a.m. for the PM group must be signed in at the front office by a parent or guardian Disciplinary measures may be taken for excessive tardiness and late pickups.

2 Arrival and Dismissal *Car riders must display the car rider name sign on the right front window AM Arrival is located at the back entrance after 7:30 Morning students are considered tardy after 8:05. It is required for parents to escort students to the front office at this time. Dismissal is at 10:50am located at the back entrance for car riders, walkers, and daycare PM Arrival is located at the back entrance at 10:50 Afternoon students are considered tardy after 11:00 (At this time, please walk in the front office to check your child in.) Dismissal is at 1:50pm located at the back entrance for car riders, walkers and daycare *Any student who is picked up late more than 2 times will be required to be picked up from an administrator.

3 Rainy Day Procedures All arrival and dismissal will be located at the back entrance on rainy days. If your Pre-K student has an older sibling at Timbers, he or she will need to be dismissed at 3:05 and will need to report to the back entrance. After a form of transportation has been established for the school year, in need of change, a signed note is required 30 minutes prior to dismissal Please include in the note: The date of pick up Name of Adult picking up your child Signature of the parent or guardian. *A photo id is required to release the student *Please include the note in the child’s daily notebook for easy finding.

4 Breakfast Morning students will receive breakfast from 7:30 to 8:00; after 8:00 we will be cleaning up to head to the classroom. Students will not be allowed to eat breakfast after 8:00 Elementary Breakfast $1.40 Lunch Applications For your convenience, Humble I.S.D has provided a faster, easier way for you to apply for your child’s breakfast or lunch needs. You can find an Online Meal Application in the child nutrition website at: https://humble.rocketscanapps.com/ You also can obtain access to your child’s meal account and make online payments as needed. Lunch Afternoon students will be served lunch from 11:00 to 11:30 Elementary Lunch $2.20

7 Supplies Needed Water Bottles with built in straw-No sippy cups Change of clothes for minor accidents. The clinic will not have extra clothes. 8 Pre-K Schedule and Conferences Pre-K Schedule: 7:30-8:00- Arrive school/ Breakfast 8:00-8:20- Morning Meeting/Calendar Math 8:20-9:00- Center Rotations/Small group instruction 9:00-9:25- Dinosaur School Curriculum 9:25-10:10- Center Rotations/Small group instruction 10:10-10:30- Frog Street Curriculum 10:30-10:40- Circle Time/Read Aloud/Songs and Movement 10:40-10:50- Pack up for Dismissal Conferences are available Tuesday thru Thursday by appointment only, from 2:00 to 3:00 Required Parent Teacher Conferences: Wednesday October 28 th & Thursday October 29 th

9 Behavior And Vision Statement We will be responsible, respectful, and safe If a child is not following the stated rules, a child can be moved to the following colors; Green, Yellow, Red Green- Great Day Yellow- a child has received 2- 3 Warnings Red- See behavior chart for communication Students will… Demonstrate a desire to learn Actively participate in the learning process Accept responsibility for their decisions and actions Conduct themselves in a way that contributes to a safe, positive and respectful environment Behavior PlanVision Statement

10 Parties, Special Events, and Volunteers *Make sure we are aware of any food allergies Volunteers can not check in until after 9:00 and ALL volunteers need to check in the front office. 3 Parties a year- Winter, Friendship, Spring Special Events-Super Kids Day, etc. No birthday Invitations or goody bags are to be handed out under any circumstance! You may purchase ice cream in the cafeteria for the class a week in advance to celebrate your child’s birthday. $10 will be collected at the beginning of the school year used towards food items and activities for 3 school parties. No donation of food, candy, or drinks will be accepted for parties.

11 Wish List The following items are mostly used in the classroom and donations would be greatly appreciated! Treasure box toys Clorox or Lysol wipes Washable Paint Lysol spray Playdough Colored sand Class sized box of Dry Snacks (goldfish, graham crackers, animal crackers, Cheez its, pretzels) Glue Sticks
