3 Agreement between verbs and their subjects
1. To begin with, a large number of surplus labors is attracted when cities are under constructing or expanding. 2. Thanks to urbanization, people's life style are changing. Now everyone are paying attention to their health greatly. 3. In addition, due to the expansion of urbanization, the price of land as well as the costs of using it soar into the air. 4. From the music, I can feel the beauty and love in the world, which not only inspires and moves me a lot, but also purifies my soul, so that I can become a better person with good qualities.

4 Agreement between verbs and their subjects
Subject +Verbs 1. Complete subject (verb agrees with the simple subject) 2. Compound subject (“and”: plural verbs; “or”, singular or plural, depending on the nearer subject) 3. Simple subject (indefinite pronouns: singular verb; collective nouns: singular or plural verb; nouns singular in meaning: singular verb; subject clause: singular verb ) 4. Relative clause (verb agrees with the antecedent)

1. One with a good writing ability can be regarded as competent, resposible persons in their study or work and many others will respect them. 2. Moreover, being able to write well offers one a good chance to present themselves, which enables them to get a promotion quickly. 3. But I still firmly believe that the sound memories I got in our dormitory will be the most unforgettable one not only in my life but also in my roommates’ lives. . 4. Thanks to urbanization, people also change. It is changing our way of life, our sense of values and the way how we think and how we see the world. .

Consistency in number Consistency in tense Consistency in mood: indicative, imperative, subjunctive Consistency in subject and voice

8 Exercises 1.We waited in the emergency room for about an hour. Finally, the nurse comes in and tells us that we are in the wrong place. 2. For a minimal fee one may join the class.
