5 Role Play

6 Travelling The scientific and technological progress of the 20th century has allowed people to overcome time distance. The whole world is open now. Modern life is impossible without travelling. Thousands of people travel every day on business or for pleasure. One can travel by air, by train, by sea or by road. My father prefers travelling by air, because it is the fastest and the most convenient way, but it is the most expensive too. My mother likes travelling by train and considers it to be cheap and more convenient. She says that travelling by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see much more interesting places of the country. Modern trains have very comfortable seats. There are also sleeping cars and dining cars. Safe, comfort and safety are the main advantages of trains. If my parents go on their vacations they would prefer travelling by sea or river. They enjoy trips on the Volga, the Yenisei, the Black sea on board of large ships. As for me, I prefer tourism, visiting places for pleasure, because I’m fond of sightseeing. I like to travel light, that’s why I prefer travelling by car. I think it’s very convenient. You needn’t book any tickets in advance. You needn’t carry heavy suitcases. You can stop wherever you wish and spend at any place as much time as you like. As a rule I make friends there.
