This created a split to the country. Muslims migrated North creating Pakistan and East Pakistan (now called Bangladesh). India’s population today is roughly 80% Hindu

9 In Sri Lanka there are two major ethnic groups—Sinhalese and Tamils. See Classroom Blog: There will be a question you will need to answer related to Sri Lanka. Buddhism is the dominate religion in Nepal and Bhutan. It is actually the official religion of Bhutan. Bhutan only allows 1,000 people within their country a year. Has very strict guidelines on tourism. Bhutan’s economic mantra is “gross national happiness”. 60% of Maldives foreign currency earnings comes from tourism. It is a huge tourist spot for Europeans. Would be similar to the Caribbean for Americans.

Why do you think the Bhutan population would not approve of China and their policies? The last question you will have to critically examine comments made throughout film,

11 Each hour will be divided up into teams. Tuesday in your teams you will create a name for your team and review/research information on India. Wed/Thurs will be the race! You will visit five stations. Each station has a different theme of questions and challenges. As a team you will need to answer and complete the questions/challenges. Themes: Religion, History, Culture/Entertainment, Current Issues, and Physical Geography. If you answer all the questions correctly you will earn 3pts If you answer all but one question correct you will earn 2pts If you answer some questions right but miss two or more then you will only earn 1pt. If you miss all questions you will earn zero pts. When done you will be given a clue to the next destination of questions. The team that finishes first will earn 5 extra pts., 2 nd team 3pts, and 3 rd team 1pt. to add to their total. The team that earns the must points in the end wins! Each winning team will earn a treat and extra credit points.
