4.  We use 2 textbooks in this class, but they are class sets and will remain in the room. ◦ you may check out a book if you need it, but for only one night. ◦ Active Physics: hands-on inquiry labs ◦ Conceptual physics: traditional physics text, with good explanations and examples.

5.  This class is a mixture of: ◦ hands-on labs ◦ note taking ◦ class demonstrations ◦ videos ◦ group calculations

6.  Math Review  Distance, Displacement, Velocity  Accelerated Motion  Traffic Intersection Project  Forces  Energy conservation  Series and parallel circuits  Electromagnetism  Waves (Light and Sound)

8.  If you are absent, you must make-up the missing assignments, even labs.  YOU are responsible for collecting your make- up work the day you return! ◦ There is a calendar of assignments on the cork board. ◦ Assignments in top drawer of white cart labeled make-up work.

9.  you must pick up your binder from your classes crate.  begin working on your bell work.  sharpen your pencil or borrow one from a classmate if you forgot yours.  go to the bathroom or get water. ◦ you only have 4 passes each semester and you cannot go while I am giving instructions or notes.

10.  Be respectful of the teacher, fellow students, classroom guests, and school property.  When the teacher talks, give your full attention.  Be in your seat and working when the bell rings or you are tardy.  No food or drink are allowed except water.  Remain in your seat unless given permission.

11.  Cheating in any form is not allowed and will be subject to disciplinary action.  The use of profanity is unacceptable.  Cell phones are NOT allowed in the classroom.  The bell does not dismiss class, the teacher does.

12.  3 verbal warnings in a week gets you detention with Ms. Goepfert.  The 4 th warning gets you another detention or time added on to the first.  The 5 th warning gets you a referral.  3 verbal warnings in one day gets you detention and removal from the class.

13.  If you cannot make the assigned detention time or would like to speak to me about the reason for the detention, I will be glad to speak to you at the end of class, NOT DURING.  A referral will be written if you do not show up to detention.
