Gonorrhea Sexually Transmitted disease Transmitted by bacteria
Infects peritoneal cavity Caused by inflammation called pelvic inflammatory disease Can cause scarring and closing of uterine tubes Can cause someone infertility The bacteria can also grow in the eyes More common in large areas with more heavy population Symptoms usually occur 2-5 days after infection Often mistaken for other infections 3

Chlamydia Sexually transmitted disease Caused by bacteria
It is not easy to find Infected does not always show symptoms Very contagious Only 30% of women have symptoms Burning sensation when going to the bathroom Prevention get screens yearly and use condoms 4

Syphillis Sexually transmitted Bacterial infection
Does not always create symptoms Very contagious Passed through sores Easy to cure in its early stages Can be prevented by using condoms Highest incidence in young girls 5

Herpes Develops on genitals of females and males Very contagious
Causes small red bumps Itching can occur Can get it even if your partner shows no signs No cure Laboratory tests tell you if you have herpes There is some treatments to reduce problems 6

Prostate Cancer Affects males
Can stop production of fluid needed for sperm’s nourishment and transportation Male cells multiply or mutate very quickly Cancer grows slowly Hard to catch Prostate below bladder Found mainly in older men Gland that creates semen Blood in urine 7

Orchiditis Follows an STD or mumps In adult males Uncommon but serious

Ovarian Cyst Collection of fluid in thin wall of ovary
Causes abdominal pain Becomes a bubble in ovary Some need to be surgically removed Others will pop and go away Very common in females Causes weight gain Can be found by an ultrasound 11

Phimosis Narrowing of the foreskin of the penis Misplaced openings
Foreskin is too tight Common disorder Usually causes no problem Can cause obstruction of the urinary stream 0.4 cases/1000 boys per year 12

Cervical Erosion Ulcers form in the cervix region
Causes bright red or pink spots Around the cervical opening partial or complete absence of the squamous epithelium Inflamed tissue Caused by trauma or infection and sometimes chemical like creams or foams Symptom is vaginal bleeding Yellow may have odor in discharge 13

Vaginitis Most common disease of the reproductive system affecting Women Inflammation of the vagina Change in normal vaginal bacteria Can be treated with antibiotics Itching Noxious odor Yellow-green pus Can be painful 15

Polycystic ovary syndrome
Ovaries are affected in women Causes enlarged ovaries Covered in many cysts Can be very painful Imbalance of women’s sex hormones Trouble getting pregnant Changes in periods Can cause decreased breast size 16
