2 What is Office 365 Office 365 is the same Office you already know and use every day. Office 365 is powered by “the cloud” which is a network of servers that allow you to store and access data via the internet. You can get to your applications and files from virtually anywhere on a PC or a Mac and they're always up to date. Same goes for updates to features—you get them automatically.

3 How do I get Office 365 Go to the Bloomfield High School Web Site. Go to Students. Click on Student email. Click on Office 365. Your student email is: your ID#@edu.bloomfield.k12.nj.us Your password is your date of birth.

4 Outlook Outlook is where you find your email. The first time you log on you will need to activate your OneDrive. Click on OneDrive. It will take anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes to activate.

5 What is OneDrive? OneDrive is a free, online storage space that you can use as your own personal online hard drive. When you create a document with one of the Web Apps, it will be saved to your OneDrive. You can store other files there, too. Some people refer to this type of online storage as the cloud. Since Web Apps and OneDrive are based in the cloud, you can access them from any computer with an internet connection, at any time.

6 How do I access OneDrive? OneDrive is accessed through your Office 365 school email.

7 How do I access Web Apps? You don't need to install anything on your computer to use Web Apps. Instead, you work with them online, using OneDrive.

8 What are Office Web Apps? Office Web Apps are free, basic versions of the most popular programs in the Microsoft Office suite. They let you create Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and more without having to buy or install any software. Word - for creating text documents Excel - for working with spreadsheets PowerPoint - for creating presentations OneNote - for taking and organizing notes Excel survey- for creating a survey

9 Once you’ve used Web Apps and OneDrive to store files in the cloud, you can edit and share them without ever having to download them to your computer. You can also upload files from your computer, including photos and music. You can even sync your computer and OneDrive so that any changes you make to your files are automatically copied between the cloud and your computer

10 How To Create a New Office Document Click onChoose Word document

11 Your document will be created and opened. You name your document in the blue banner where it says Document

12 To Create a New Folder Click the Add button and then select New Folder from the drop-down menu.

13 Enter a name for the new folder, then press Enter on your keyboard

14 After your folder is created Click the folder to open it. The folder will be empty. You can create new documents inside the folder following the same steps. Just click the Add button and then select the type of document you wish to create.

15 Working with Web Apps When you open a document in OneDrive, a preview of the document will appear. Click Edit Document and then select Edit in Web App from the drop-down menu to begin editing with Web Apps.

17 The File Tab The File Tab contains many document options including save as, print, share and help.

18 Printing Under the File Tab click on Print. Click on the printer icon. This will convert your document to a PDF. “Click here to view the PDF of your document.” Choose your destination (printer). Click “Print using system dialogue…(Ctrl+Shift+P)

19 Sharing You can invite people to share a document or a power point with you and even give them the ability to edit it.

20 Insert Tab The Insert tab contains tools that let you insert Tables, Pictures, Clip Art, Links and Headers & Footer

21 Page Layout Tab The Page Layout Tab allows you to change the margin size, switch between portrait and landscape mode, modify the paper size and change the line spacing of paragraphs.

22 The View Tab The View tab contains options that let you switch between two views –the Editing View lets you make changes to your document and the Reading View shows a preview of your document.

23 Open in Word If you have the desktop version of Word on your computer, you can open the current document in that program by clicking the Open in Word button.

24 Word Count The Word web app will display an approximate word count for your document in the bottom left corner.

25 How to Delete Click on the 3 dots next to the name of the file you want to delete. Then click on the 3 dots on the screen that pops up. Then click delete.
