17 Active Travel Officer: Workplaces Engagement is key to empower staff to make lifestyle-integrated active travel choices Active travel significantly benefits staff health and wellbeing Benefits made measurable through robust monitoring and evaluation by Sustrans ‘To increase awareness of using the workplace as a setting to positively impact the health and wellbeing of employees’

19 Some statistics… For every 100 employees Sustrans engage in our full package of activities, we achieve per year: Reduction of 24 sick days Improved well being in 61 employees Increased productivity 6% reduction in commuting by car A reduction of up to 38 tonnes of CO 2 The typical benefits of our projects deliver estimated savings to organisations of a minimum of £7,500 a year for every 100 employees engaged

20 Leading the Way with Active Travel Funded by: Participating organisations: Baseline survey of 1714 employees in these organisations has identified the barriers to active travel. Sustrans has tailored engagement plans for each workplace, and feeds back to employers accordingly to help overcome these barriers.

40 Education and prevention To provide information and to encourage individual awareness of alcohol related harm. To empower line managers to address the negative impact of alcohol use and enable them to support their employees, if an issue arises. General Awareness Training Line Management Training

41 Intervention and treatment To enable individuals to be proactive in how they manage their alcohol intake. To provide tailored help and support to those living with the negative impact of alcohol use. Services will be tailored to the needs of each individual, and will range from a single session to a twelve week programme. Self-Help Website Brief Intervention Counselling
