2 INTRODUCTION Mock Test 10 follows the CLAT pattern wherein the students are subjected to the same level of difficulty both in terms of question type and level. The mock test comprises of five sections with a total of 200 questions. A student is expected to attempt this test in an actual test like environment wherein he has 120 minutes to complete the test and thus need to schedule his/her time accordingly. 3 ENGLISH This section was of moderate level of difficulty. The section consisted of:  1 Reading Comprehension passage with 10 questions  5 questions on Spelling (same word)  5 questions on Foreign language phrases  5 questions on idioms  5 questions on synonyms  10 Fill in the Blanks questions  The various questions are now described in detail:

The questions should have been attempted by eliminating the incorrect options. 31 to 40 Fill in the Blanks Easy to Moderate The questions were fairly easy and 5 out of 10 could have been attempted.

6 GENERAL KNOWLEDGE This section of MOCK TEST – 10 has 50 questions in all. With no difference this test was also focused on static GK. Total no. of questions from static GK were 35. While under static GK, the primary emphasis was on general science and technology from which section maximum no. of questions were asked. Other important sections under static GK were History, Geography & misc. Less weight was given to economy. Over all difficulty level of static section was moderate to tough. There were 15 questions from current affairs and they were mainly based on personality and misc. The difficulty level of current affairs was easy. Further, the final break-up summary can be analyzed with the help of following table:

8 MATHEMATICS This section of the test was of Easy to Moderate level of difficulty. This section consisted of  12 questions of Arithmetic  3 questions of Algebra  4 questions of Number System  1 question of Clock

11 REASONING Analytical Reasoning: This section of the test was of Easy to Moderate level of difficulty. This section consisted of  4 questions of Analytical Reasoning  1 question of Series  3 questions of Coding Decoding  1 question of Comparison  1 question of Direction  3 questions of Blood Relation  1 question of seating arrangement  The various questions are now described in detail:

They could be solved by using Venn diagram method. All of them should have been solved. 114 Analogy Difficult The question required an understanding of the fine distinction between the degrees of the words paired. 115 to 117 Odd pair out Moderate - Difficult The questions were a mix of moderate and difficult level. At least two out of three questions should be solved.

The questions demanded the use of two concepts at a time, ‘when’ and ‘either … or’ in Q.118 and ‘either…or’ and ‘if…then’ in q119. One had to first identify the cause and effect and then deal with the question using Venn diagram method. 120 to 122 Assertion - Reason Moderate - Difficult The questions ranged from between moderate and difficult level. They demanded some general knowledge. 123 to 125 Statement - Argument Moderate - Difficult The questions ranged from moderate to difficult level. They required a careful understanding of the validity and the impact of the argument on the statement. All the questions should have been attempted.

It required the identification of the problem at hand and then checking the course of action with regard to its effect in solving the problem. At least 3 out of 4 questions could have been attempted. 130 to 132 Critical Reasoning Moderate - Difficult The questions ranged from moderate to difficult. They could be solved by finding out the crux of the paragraph. At least 2 on 3 questions should have been attempted. 133 to 135 Statement - Assumption Moderate - Difficult 2 on 3 questions are of moderate difficulty. Only Q.135 was difficult. If negating the assumption affect the statement, it was a valid assumption. 2 on 3 questions should have been attempted.

16 LEGAL APTITUDE This section had 50 questions on Legal Aptitude comprising of both Legal Reasoning as well as Legal Knowledge. The section consisted of: Legal Reasoning (35 questions) Legal Knowledge (15 questions) Overall, the section was of Moderate difficulty level. The Legal Reasoning section tested the ability of students to understand and interpret questions with multiple principles and explanations and the combined application of the same to factual matrix to reach the best answer. And, in order to answer the questions based on Legal Knowledge, students were expected to have knowledge of various concepts under Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Law of Contracts, General Principles of Law and Tort Law. An attempt between the range of 45-47 would be considered a good attempt for this section.

17 DETAILS  Legal Reasoning: The Legal Reasoning of Mock 10 was having a difficulty level of moderate amount. This section was dominated by questions from Criminal Law. Rest of the questions were from Torts, Constitutional Law, Law of Contracts and General Principles of Law.  Legal Knowledge: The Legal Knowledge part of Mock contained questions majorly from Constitutional Law. Apart from that there were questions from Law of Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law and other General Principles of law.

19 QUESTION ANALYSIS Question 153: The principle provides for ‘objective causation test’ which means that liability would be determined by first asking the question, ‘had things been different if the defendant had acted legally (reasonably)?” The entire question rested on the reason behind the collision of the ship. Clearly, if we look at the facts, Amar was not qualified and had he completed the course he would have been more serious in discharge of his duties. Moreover, XY seaways, also sent an unqualified officer which is wrong on their part. Apart from these, Amar was negligent in his conduct as he slept off onboard which led to the collision of the ship. This, shows that Amar and XY Seaways are both liable.

20 QUESTION ANALYSIS Question 154: It is one of the difficult and lengthy questions of the portion consisting of 3 principles on the topic of Torts. The first principle deal with liability for negligence. the second principle provides the “reasonable man” principle of acting objectively in all circumstances. The third principle talks about “Act of God” which is a general defence provided in torts. The facts clearly provide that Sachin, Rajat’s neighbor, was worried and has warned Rajat about the danger despite of the precautionary chimney. Hence Rajat was under a legal duty to act so as to avert the danger in case the hay ignited. Principle 2 would have the best application to these set of facts. Mere chimney would not have been the only precaution put up there by an objective reasonable man in Rajat’s place.

21 QUESTION ANALYSIS Question 181-183: This is a must attempt question. Although it has three principles, but the principles are easy to understand followed by a moderate set of facts. It is also an interesting question as the principles take into account Criminal law and constitutional law concepts at the same time. The questions that follow are easy and the answers can be figured out by direct application of the principles. In question 183, the two offences talked about are completely different. Waging war against Indian State and destruction of public property are two entirely different offences and Iqbal has not been punished and prosecuted for the same offence more than once.
