18 Existing IT solutions could not support Mattress Firm organic and external growth plans. Current system design and architecture was not capable of embracing innovation and evolution of the business.  Replacing GERS ERP an Escalate Retail (now Red Prairie) for Point Of Sale (POS), warehouse management, delivery scheduling, purchase order management, replenishment, merchandising and inventory management with a robust and flexible system. Due to poorly designed system and data architecture, the legacy ERP solution was not capable of supporting that growth nor did it offer much adaptability and flexibility. Mattress and Furniture retail industry is extremely fragmented with significant market share belonging to small non tech savvy “mom & pop” stores/chains. Hence best of breed applications – although feature rich- do not provide flexibility and scalability that Mattress Firm needed.  Looking for a system that will be able to bring the necessary innovation, scalability and flexibility. Mattress business is driven by the unique sales and customer facing systemic requirements associated with the big ticket industry. Mattress Firm needed to differentiate with a system that would bring customer experience to another level by leveraging innovation.  Mattress Firm was looking at an adaptable system that be able to increase customer satisfaction. Support Business Growth Scalability and Flexibility Best in Class Customer Experience
