3 Browser Check First verify that your web browser is compatible with the Good Done Great System. “Check” symbolizes that it is. If it is not try Chrome, Foxfire, Safari. Old versions of Internet Explorer may not work properly. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -3

4 New User Start Here As a new user, the first step is to sign up for the Grant portal. You may create one user profile and share the log information with your colleagues. OR Each staff person can create a profile and connect it to the organization’s profile. Note: When one user creates a new application they will have to give their colleagues the ability to access, view and complete information on that application. 5 Creating a profile Create a user profile. This profile is for you the user, not the organization. Complete the demographic information and remember to press save to move to the next page. Grant writers may have one profile for multiple organizations. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -5

6 Welcome Page Moving forward, the next page will b eth main page. The tabs at the top of the page will guide you to the information about The Community Foundation, grant deadlines, contact information, open and submitted applications and profile edit and sign out. Not all of our grant programs are implemented through the Good Done Great System. Please be sure to go to that program’s web page to verify the process for submitting an application. 7 Creating an organization profile You will be directed to a page where you are asked to select an organization. There are no organization’s listed, you will have to create one by selecting “Add New Organization”. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -7

8 Creating an organization profile Create a profile for the organization that is applying for a grant. Be sure that the tax id number matches the tax id number that was first entered. Please use the proper tax id number for the organization, not the tax id number for the grant writer, the system will not allow you to apply one grant cycle multiple times with the same tax id number. 9 Selecting the organization If you start a new application you will be redirected to this page where you select the organization. If you have entered and saved a new organization and the organization does not appear on the list. Log out and go back into the system. It should be there. 11 Grant Cycles offered through Good Done Great The grant fund cycles that are offered through the online portal are: Grants to Green – Implementation & Assessments Common Good Fund Metropolitan Arts Fund Local Funds Non Profit Toolbox Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -11

12 Green action buttons (for an existing application) The green buttons to the left are “Edit” – which allows you to edit your application; “Del”- which deletes your application; “View”- which allows you to view your colleagues application; “Add New” – allows for a new colleague to be added to the application. 13 Completing the eligibility quiz Complete the eligibility quiz to confirm if the organization is eligible. In order to move past this screen, the organization must meet eligibility requirements. If the organization is not eligible, please do not proceed. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -13

14 Completing the application Once the eligibility quiz is completed, the applicant is directed to the application. Each grant application has the identified questions from the instructions. When completing financials for deficits/ negative amounts, be sure to put the negative sign ahead of the entered amount. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -14

15 Completing the application The date fields are interchangeable. They can be in the mm/dd/yy format or the mm/dd/yyyy format. When you “SAVE & CONTINUE” the application will automatically advance to the next section. If you press “ENTER” the next tab will also be presented for you, however, if you have entered any information, it will not be saved. Please remember to click “SAVE & CONTINUE ” to move forward in the application. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -15

16 Completing the application The word counter will allow you to type beyond the word max, but it will not indicate when you have gone over. You can copy and paste answers from word, but for the words to be counted, you must press the space bar to get an accurate count of the words. 17 Reviewing the application After completing the application, click the review tab, you will be able to see the information you have provided. This means that there are required fields that have been left incomplete. In order to submit your application all required fields must be completed. 18 Incomplete application To determine which section was not completed in its entirety, look at the section headings. If the circle doesn’t have a check mark then it is Incomplete. SECTION INCOMPLETE SECTION COMPLETE Unfortunately the system does not indicate which field or question is incomplete. Check for the following issue. Over the character limit. 19 Submitting the application You are in the final screen before submitting your application. Please be sure to print your application, and verify your organizations contact information before submitting. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -19

20 Signature page Before submitting the application, all the required “signatures” must be entered. Please be sure to enter all three or you cannot submit the application Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -20

21 Invitation to complete a final application You will receive an email if your organization is invited to submit a final application. Log back into the system and access your application. It will be listed under “Requests”. Click “Edit” to complete your final application. Good Done Great Grant Application Instructions Guide -21

22 Bullet information here Document Uploads Each program will require uploads. Either in the Letter of Intent phase, Final Application phase or both. The required attachments will be listed at the top of each program’s upload page. Click the green button “Add Document” to upload the required document from your computer. For clarity you can enter in a description for the item. If you have multiple documents to be uploaded for the same criteria just select the criteria again.
